Autumn Apples

There's so much to do and make with apples! Fall is much too short to get it all done. Apple cider, apple pie, apple butter, apple crisp, apple centerpieces, apple place cards, bobbing for apples, picking apples, carmel apples - the list never ends!

These pumpkins are made with brass thumbtacks.  I love the surprising texture.  Would be awesome sprinkled throughout a reception.

Statement Wedding Jewelry and Accessories

We are all about statement pieces for brides.  A bold necklace, a vintage hairpiece, or a cute birdcage veil will showcase your individual style and make your look on your wedding day unique.

Beautiful statement necklaces work well with strapless gowns or deep plunging necklines.  I love the ones with color, it's definitely a bold choice that people will notice.

A birdcage or blusher veil is an elegant way to add a vintage vibe to your wedding attire.  That's my veil on the top left!

Crystals, beads, fabric and feathers - depending on the texture you want complimenting your hair and style - you'll have ample choices to pick from.

One tip, looking on eBay for necklaces, hair clips, or broaches is a great way to find unique, high quality statement pieces at often a fraction of the cost of high end retailers.  Trying searching "estate necklace" or "antique broach" to find some great scores.  It can be hard to find just the right piece, but once you do, all of your endless scouring will be worth it.

New Lounge Furniture @ Something Vintage--Fabulous Goldilocks Settee

Last Friday night, I drove all the way to Philly on Friday to pick up this lovely lady she was definitely worth it!  As with many great finds, I knew I had to act fast because a beauty like this would definitely be snatched up quickly.  I've named her Goldilocks because she is just the Victorian sofa for which I've been hunting.  The beautiful upholstery is a warm sand color with a subtle shine and the trim is gold painted wood.  I can see gorgeous photos of brides on this sofa.....or as lounge furniture at a reception...oooh the possibilities are endless.  Welcome to the fam, Goldilocks!

Chartreuse: Wedding Inspiration

It's no secret that avocado green (or it's brighter counterpart: chartreuse) is not every ones favorite color. Trying to throw an event with a color name foreign to some can be extremely challenging. Brides that dig this retro shade usually have a hard time getting friends, family, and vendors on board with their unique vision.

We've put together a beautiful inspiration board above showing just how well this shade of green can work for your special day. While you know this (and we know this) now you need to convince the local baker to make you some "greenish, yellowish, darker than this, but lighter than that" fondant.

Save yourself the headache and take this board (or link) with you to all your wedding related meetings!

New @ Something Vintage: Ruffled Antique Lace Tablecloth

So those of you who know me,  know that I am an aspiring hoarder and can't throw anything old away.  Really, it just breaks my heart.  So I have this pile of vintage linens that I can't use because of holes, stains, etc.  So rather than pitching them (which I could never do!), I set out to repurpose them in a ruffled lace tablecloth.

The lovely Vanessa from Vanessa Grant Events on Etsy is a peach and agreed to repurpose up my antique linens to make this amazing lace ruffled tablecloth for a photoshoot that we are participating in next week.

I had to post a photo of it on the blog because I literally just received it i the mail and it is even more beautiful in person.  This is going to look stunning in photoshoot, I have no doubt.   Thank you, Vanessa!

After next week, the lovely tablecloth will be available to rent for tea parties, weddings, or other fabulous events.

How cool would this be one a dessert table?!!  No other rental company has anything like this :)
