We recently purchased reclaimed barnwood farm tables to rent and the main reason I decided for a natural look on them is to highlight the little details that make the wood and tables so distinctive.  Why cover up the wood's beauty?!  Let it shine, I say!

Love this distressed table and how each inch is unique.

Look at the stripey grain in this wood.  Isn't that amazing?!  I just love all the little details in these types of tables.

Mismatched Chairs for Weddings

Most of you probably know about my obsession with vintage mismatched chairs (and that I collected 100+ for our barn wedding!), but since then, I have been unable to kick the habit and have continued to collect them for Something Vintage.  We could have selected Chivari chairs to rent out, but the quality, symbolism, and meaning of a vintage chair is so much more compelling to me, especially for a wedding!

Annie+ Will's Bookish Wedding

Check out this amazing wedding shot by Birds of a Feather photography.  I love how they incorporated books into the ceremony and reception--and the lovely way that they hung them.  The wedding coordinator, Bash, Please, in California styled the event and helped the couple craft the central theme because school and books were such an important facet of their lives together--and they met in grad school!

Great portrait with the oversized balloon in the background.

I LOVE the way they hung these books.  It's a really creative way to make a ceremony backdrop.  Kudos to Bash, Please!

These table numbers are so adorable!  They are made from book pages--I love how clean the number cut out is.

Stitched napkin holder, get out!  So cute.

Wedding Trend for 2013: Lounge Seating

One trend I love for 2013 wedding season, is using vintage upholstered lounge seating for cocktail hours instead of cocktail tables.  Think velvet tufted sofas, Victorian arm chairs with end tables set up outside for guests to enjoy a cocktail and chat.

You can use any color of sofa and incorporate your wedding colors by coordinating pillows, flowers, and decor.  I'm loving these ruffled pillows--very chic.

It seems that this is yet another move to bring the indoors outside.  I love this contrast!  It is also perfect for a timeless bridal portrait.

We have used our Victorian velvet sofas in beautiful lounge set ups, but luckily the photos are about to be published so we can't post them here yet:)  We have several sofas now and continue to add to our inventory.  Need a certain color?  Please let us know and we can help you find it.

Do you have a favorite lounge set up that you've seen?  Please send it to use, we'd love to check it out!  We never get tired of looking at pretty vintage furniture.

Tea Party Invitations

Cute tea party invitations aren't the easiest to find--even when culling through Pintrest and Etsy.  A lot of times tea party invitations use silly fonts and graphics that make them look like they were created in 1995.  Sooo, I wanted to show off a couple of the pretty ones that I found.

This one I especially love because of the contrasting colors, sweet flower graphics, an the use of contrasting fonts.  And isn't that envelope liner to die for??!

This invitation below is so cute!  According to Oh So Beautiful Paper, it was designed to look like  the front of a vintage tea tin.  Maybe that's why I like it!
